The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Examination) is a standardized assessment developed by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) and used for admissions to private/independent schools. The ISEE scores are used as one piece of the overall student profile for application consideration. The ISEE measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, and mathematics achievements.
There are different levels to this assessment based on where you are in your education:
- Primary Level (entering Grades 2-4)
- Lower Level (entering Grades 5 and 6)
- Middle Level (entering Grades 7 and 8)
- Upper Level (entering Grades 9-12).
The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is a standardized test used for admission to a private or independent school, including most boarding schools. The exam measures verbal, math, and reading skills needed for success in an independent school and is a tool used to compare applicants regardless of background or experience.
The SSAT exam has different levels depending on which grade you are entering:
- Elementary Level (entering grades 4-5)
- Middle Level (entering grades 6-8)
- Upper Level (entering grades 9-12)
We could not have been happier with the tutoring my son received for the ISEE (secondary school entrance exam). His tutor Ian was outstanding. He was everything you look for in a teacher – patient, a fantastic educator, great communicator and knowledgeable. He connected well with my son who thought he was amazing and looked forward to each session. We will absolutely be back for SAT tutoring in a few years. Could not recommend them more highly!
